ARAM-Poitou Summer School 2015

During my stay at ARAM-Poitou this summer, as part of the Concerts en nos Villages series I performed ‘Three Worlds’ (solo piano) in Frozes on 11 Aug 2015 and St Pierre en Vaux on 12 Aug 2015, Peter Swinnen’s ‘Edokaste’ with Guy Danel on cello at St Pierre en Vaux and Le Rochereau on 13 Aug 2015, and also Beethoven’s Piano Trio Op.1 no.3 and the slow movement of Schubert’s Piano Trio in Bb major D.898 also in the Le Rochereau concert.

As part of an evening celebrating the 80th birthday of my unstoppable former piano teacher, Kate Elmitt, I will be performing the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto in C major, K.467 with the Eagle Orchestra, complete with an especially written cadenza.

World premiere of this and that for chamber orchestra and choir, which sets= words by poet Ira Lightman - this work was commissioned by Manchester Revolution for this event. This is part of the Peace Festival's Contemporary Music Night, organised by Classical Revolution Manchester, raising funds for Musicians without Borders. The programme includes works by Nina Whiteman, James Stephenson, Emma Wilde, Eve Harrison and Hindemith, and will feature also feature live poetry and, later on, a DJ.
